Happy Saturday folks! This weekend my brother and I came home from school. Being home and spending quality time with my family is something I take for granted. Last night my parents came home from Puerto Rico after two weeks in the Islands. I found it so funny that the first place they wanted to visit was King Taco (a total Mexican resturant) because in Puerto Rico, apparently, Mexican food doesn't exist. Ha. We spend last night telling stories, eating and just enjoying eachothers company. I was so thrilled to have them back in the States with me, and although I am only going to be here for the weekend I will cherish every moment I spend with them. This morning I spent my time in my dads office/library, we talked about theology and philosophy and everything in between. I told him about my school and how I am doing academically and things that I have learned and questioned about. I feel like he always tells me the same message, but approaches it in a differant way everytime. The motif of every story is "seeking Christ". He told me about his personal experiences in Puerto Rico with Christ and what he prayed and meditated about while in vacation. I love how he is so open with himself with me, and how I can just talk to him like a friend and not feel like he will judge me or respond condesendingly. I feel like I can take being here for a few days for granted because when I'm home I either nap, watch t.v, or do homework. Today I had that "ah ha" moment with my dad, as I sat on the scruffy carpet looking up at my dad holding his book in his left hand I remembered being a child and sitting in his room looking up at him as he told stories about his childhood. It was such an extraordinary feeling, it is so insane how fast time passes. It felt like yesterday I was sitting in the carpet talking to my dad about his childhood and next thing you know, I am sitting down conversing about theology with him! In my mind that is so insane to me. I digress, the point of all of this is that I missed my parents and I'm so blessed to have a family like them. Outreach week is around the corner, what's that, you ask, you'll have to wait and find out when I blog about it. Tonights game night, I have to finish homework if I want to play. Again, happy Saturday to you all, God Bless. And always seek Christ!
Heres some photos of the amazing caves in Camuy, Puerto Rico! <3
I know right!?
